Tri-Lakes Area residents will have the rare opportunity this week to see the behind-the-scenes workings of a daytime drama.
“As the World Turns” will be filming scenes for a series of three to five episodes set to air in July in the Branson area Wednesday through Friday.
According to Ann Reinke, account executive with Concept Marketing, Inc., of Branson, the company responsible for bringing the drama “As the World Turns” to Branson, fans of the show will be able to view filming of the shows at three different times during the week and even get a chance to meet the show’s stars.
“Wednesday the show will be filming at Grand Country Square and the public will be able to attend that,” Reinke said. “If some people would like to pay admission to Silver Dollar City on Thursday afternoon, there will be some filming done there, and on Friday the Andy Williams Moon River Theatre will open its doors at 1 p.m. with first-come-first-serve seating for a 2 p.m. filming.”
Reinke said on Saturday after the filming is complete people will be able to meet the stars and get autographs from 10 a.m. - noon at Grand Country Square.
According to a release from CBS the actors who will be appearing in the Tri-Lakes Area for the filming will be Jennifer Landon and Jesse Lee Soffer, who play Gwen and Will Munson; Alexandra Chando, who plays Maddie Coleman; Elena Goode, who plays Jade Taylor; and Van Hansis and Jake Silbermann, who play Luke Snyder and Noah Mayer.
The story will reportedly focus on Landon’s character coming to Branson to further her musical career.
Other places where officials have confirmed the daytime drama will be filming are on the Branson Scenic Railway, in downtown Branson, at the Branson Police Department and a handful of outdoor locations.
